So Long Sister I have hated you since I was twelve You always kept your secrets to yourself Your self devotion feels so false Hold me close for one last waltz While I pull the knife out of your back So long sister So nice to have you ‘round So long sister Looks as though you’ve lost But now I’m found You have hated me since I was born Contempt was your fave game and mine was scorn Sibling rivalry abound Grinding me into the ground Poke my head up for another smack So long sister… Found. So long sister… So long sister… Now I’m found (Now I’m found) Now I’m found (Now I’m found) Now I’m found (Now I’m found) Now I’m found (Now I’m found)

Two Years 03:00
Two Years Two years of ups and downs and I feel like a fool I keep on breaking all my rules We never synchronize, don’t seem to time it right I throw in the towel on this fight In future days gone by I hope I’ll understand It’s time this boy became a man Leave it all behind (Don’t leave a light on) Time to change my mind (Two years too long) Can’t see anymore (On and off and on) Watch me slam the door (Two years so long) Two years of back and forth and I look like a joke Can’t see the fire for the smoke My fears and indecision held me in their grip But now this rat is jumping ship In future days gone by I hope I’ll understand This time I’m sticking to my plan Leave it all behind… No more fuck-ups Lipstick tea cups Late night break-ups No more, this sucks! Leave it all behind…

Slack vs Lame You’re always late up You never shut up Still taking daddy’s guilt money You say you’re fed up Your mind is made up Go figure, life isn't just what they say I know your mummy doesn’t like you ‘cos you’re always on the run A Technicolor dream, you see yourself on the silver screen Stay bitter, follow the quest for glitter Slack versus vacant and lame Make them pay for daring to call you quitter Go put your so-called life up for sale Come on and face it You better make it It’s make-believe in reality Put on your smile girl Get lost in the swirl Go plastic, use all the magic you can Remember mummy didn’t come for you when you were on the run But little did she know, that you would die for the silver screen Mummy won’t know where you’ve been Teenage girls can be so mean Always late up, still so keen Technicolor silver screen Makeup keeps you squeaky clean The cameras can’t see what you’ve seen Your dream come true is so obscene Your dream come true is so obscene Stay bitter, follow the quest for glitter Fact versus fiction and fame Make them pay for daring to call you quitter Go put your so-called life up for sale Stay bitter, stay on the quest for glitter You slackers all look the same Make them pay for daring to call you quitter Go put your so-called life up for sale

Kimberly 04:17
Kimberly Kimberly walks down the street all alone The seeds of her boredom are sown Kimberly opens the door to her home Moonlight shining on her red hair Her answering machine never speaks any more She picks up the phone, makes a call Kimberly Isn’t she sweet but there’s nobody home Kimberly So charming to meet, but she dances alone Kimberly opens a bottle of wine Takes her first sip, snorts a line Kimberly waits for her girlfriend to come But girls they always take their time She wants to break it off, got no patience no more She picks up the phone, makes a call Kimberly… But she dances alone
6.
Fun Girl 03:12
Fun Girl Be a joker, be a smoker Met some fun girls, getting broker You never told her ‘bout the things you were doing when she was gone Be a tryer, be a liar Took some freedom, getting higher You never told her ‘bout the things you were doing when she was gone Listen to me now Please I know we could be You can show me how Please I’ll make you make me see Been a jester all semester Met my fun girl, I have left her You never told me ‘bout the things you were doing when I was gone Listen to me now… Listen to me now…

Happy Ending 03:21
Happy Ending I take my seat in the front row It’s our third date, all systems go The film’s a boy meets girl, oh yeah (Fall in love, fall out, but then they get back together) I fall in, fall out then fall apart Tell me why I’m still stuck here halfway Where’s my happy ending? The curtain falls but here I stay Where’s my happy ending? The guy on screen just got his girl Hand in hand, cute sunset, perfect world But my date is looking pretty grim (Says she likes me but she thinks that we should just be friends) Ask myself why not me, why him? Tell me… The curtain must fall I’m just waiting for it all to end To hell with it all Where’s my happy (repeat) Where’s my happy ending? Tell me…

UFO 03:54
UFO Black, standing out in the dark No-one knows I’m here in the grey empty park (Dew) dripping from my ears, wet hair in my eyes (red) Lenses drying out, seems I’ve been here for years Slow motion in my head Code red They bred I fled My head Is fed I talked to the green men (UFO) Let all my secrets slip, oh no! Talked to the green men (UFO) Now they know what they need to know, oh no! Whack! Saw a light in the sky (bright) Closing on me fast, beamed my up, tied me down Probed into my past with a probe up my head Sucking out my brains, I should be home in bed Wishing I was dead Code red They bred I fled My head Is fed I talked to the green men (UFO) Let all my secrets slip, oh no! Talked to the green men (UFO) Now they know what they need to know, oh no!

TV in the Pool Big house, people dancing on the tables, wine stains on the carpet Strangers making out behind closed doors Showed up too late, missed the bus to Roundhay, walked up to the front gate Someone put the TV in the pool Ba ba baa ba baa ba ba ba Ba ba baa ba baa ba ba ba Ba ba baa ba baa ba ba ba Ba ba baa ba ba Fell in love at first sight when she spilt her wine on my foot She apologized routinely with a smile I couldn’t find a word to say before she turned and walked away No second glance, no second chance for me Ba ba ba…

Garden Angel 02:52
Garden Angel Once upon a years ago, I must have been ‘round eight My brother told me angels lived down by our garden gate They never ever showed themselves, I thought they must be shy But I believed in garden angels, being young and wise The seas run high They cradle me, I throw my oars away We wave goodbye Reaching out to them, so I say Tell me the time when I can feel free by myself Leave me a line to walk upon Give me some time so I can be free by myself Leave me a net to fall back on Twice upon a week ago, it must’ve been ‘round eight A stranger rang and told me “You’ve got angels on your case” She said “You’ve got no need to worry, things will work out fine” I always knew my garden angel’s been here all this time The seas run high They cradle me, I throw my oars away We wave goodbye Reaching out to them, so I say Tell me the time…

Everland 04:12
Everland The other day when you were gone Didn’t know where you’re coming from It’s not you, it’s me, we need some space Glad we had this talk now face to face Yes you made it very clear So now I’m lonely over here Eat your heart out baby, do your worst Nothings matters now, the bubble’s burst You’ve gone to Everland I’m stuck but I have my band Oh how I wish I hadn’t fought, sold off the dreams that I had bought You didn’t love me anyway It’s not a subtle point you make Goin’ so hard for a first take Fingers 'round my throat, you make me sick Wrecking everything built brick by brick You’ve gone to Everland I’m stuck but I have my band Oh how I wish I hadn’t fought, sell off the dreams that I had bought You didn’t love me anyway solo You’ve gone to Everland I’m stuck but I have my band Oh how I wish I hadn’t fought, sold off the dreams that I had bought I didn’t love you anyway

about

Reviews:

You will sit in front of your speakers with a permanent smile on your face and especially songs like “So Long Sister” will seduce you to sing along at the top of your voice. Fans of tough pop sounds and alternative rock will definitely like the guys from Nom de Guerre. I did for sure!
Baldymod

„La la la“ is a perfectly produced album, which shines due to songs like “Ufo”, which recalls memories of Madness, The Speicals or the Beach Boys at the same time
With Love-The Underground Zine

There is no weak point on this album. They are innovative, ready to assume risks and they are authentic.
Powermetal.de

An extraordinary band, a strange name, but a considerable success. Their power pop mix with a fuzzy bass guitar, pumping drums and simple piano sounds makes the listeners dance or dream away.
Pottersfield.de

Fans of tough pop music or smart indie-rock will get their money worth for sure. Everything fits perfectly wonderfully. This CD definitely satisfied myself wholeheartedly and will not get dusty in my shelves.

Louis de Guerre: harmony vocals, bass and trumpet
George de Guerre: harmony vocals, drums, percussion and synthesizer

First we enlisted Mats Lundgren to record all the drums and some vocals, bass and rhodes at Sound Habits Studios. Then we recorded all the other stuff in Hector’s kitchen and Louis’s living room. All the songs were written, arranged, produced and performed by Nom de Guerre, except So Long Sister and TV in the Pool, which we wrote with Mats. The album was mixed by Hector with George, Louis and Mats. Extra gang vocals on the Intro, Happy Ending, Slack vs Lame and UFO, and clapping on So Long Sister, UFO and Fun Girl by Lisa Ehlin, Jessica Kaivola, Anna Eneroth, Embla Ardal and Nom de Guerre. The extra vocals on the Intro are by Saga Wickum, the extra vocals on Happy Ending are by Lisa Lindal and Kimberly’s answering machine message was recorded on a bad line from Paris. Ola Hedin, Sarah Wiley, Cajsa Borgström and Emma Dahl Madsen came up with the cover concept and Sarah Wiley took care of the art direction. The cover photo is by Cajsas Stillbilder and the booklet photos are by Matilda Rahm. Set design and styling by Emma Dahl Madsen. Nom de Guerre’s clothes are supplied by Eneroths Ekipering.
